As far as I can see, "#5 Make Client-Side Network Callbacks with ASP.NET AJAX" deals with calling webservices.

It seems there's a bit of a confusion out there between partial postbacks, callbacks, and webservice calls. I wouldn't consider calling a webservice a callback. A page making a callback to-itself without posting back (partial postback) is is a callback (using ICallbackEventHandler).
I was at least kinda surprised that this video turned about to be about webservices.

I learnt ASP.Net the Joe Stagner way!

Am sad to see the asbx video removed in this final series. If there is a way to rewire a new video using the latest CTP bits, I'm sure many of us would appreciate it as well.

Thanks.

Nice videos, I have a question about accordian control. Is it possible to add panes and links on the fly? I would like to use it like a menu. Any suggestions will be helpful.

Thanks

Thanks,

YOu should be able to do0 what you want by simple adding yourmenu items as cickable items (ASP.NET Link Buttons or HTML LInks) to the content collection of your Accordion Panel.

Email me if you get stuck.

Hi, Joe.

I'm working my way through your collection of fascinating "How to" videos. They're a GREAT source of loads of useful tips!

I've been "ajaxifying" my operetta group's web site (http://www.baronieoperette.nl - sorry it's all in Dutch!) using some of these tips (photo slideshow in particular). The look and feel is certainly improved in my eyes.

I was looking for a control to do a thumbnail-driven slideshow like I made on my page http:/liberator.boldlygoingnowhere.org/Baronie/Fotos/More_Bettelstudent/Meer_Bettelstudent.aspx where I have a directory full of images and another full of thumbnails under my main directory, but couldn't find anything. (btw, I've not ajaxified this page very well yet - just stuck an update panel there!)

Is this something that is likely to be created in the future, or should I dive in at the deep end and try to create my own extender? Smile
(Before I knew about the SlideShow extender I had written my own version using an update panel and a timer control)

Looking forward to the next series!

Hi Joe

I love the series. It's been very helpful to me in learning AJAX.

Is there somewhere we can obtain the stylesheet.css you use in the ToDoList video? I love the setup, but can't seem to replicate it.

Thanks.
